
Pakistan Youth Parliament (PYP), in collaboration with Riphah International University, Islamabad, organized a Kashmir Solidarity Conference to express support for the people of Kashmir and raise awareness about the ongoing human rights concerns associated with the Kashmir issue.
The conference brought together distinguished guests, academics, youth leaders, and students for meaningful discussions on human rights, national challenges, youth leadership, and the importance of informed civic engagement.
Brigadier (R) Aslam Ghuman, Member of the National Assembly and Member of the Board of Patrons of Pakistan Youth Parliament, attended the conference as the Chief Guest. In his address, he condemned what he described as continued oppression of Kashmiris and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the people of Kashmir. He also participated in an engaging question-and-answer session with the youth, addressing questions related to national challenges, corruption, governance, and the role of young people in strengthening society.
A key highlight of the event was the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the Pakistan Youth Parliament Islamabad Chapter. Brigadier (R) Aslam Ghuman administered the oath, marking the formal induction of the new members and reinforcing their commitment to national service, constitutional values, responsible citizenship, and youth leadership.
Afshan Tahseen Bajwa, Former Chairperson of the National Commission on Child Rights, participated as the Guest Speaker. In her address, she highlighted human rights concerns related to Kashmir and called for greater international attention and meaningful efforts toward addressing the longstanding issue.
President Pakistan Youth Parliament, Muhammad Abu Bakar, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the potential of young people to contribute to solving Pakistan’s major challenges. He encouraged the youth to move beyond criticism and take an active role in policy discussions, leadership, civic participation, and nation-building.
The closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Wasim Sajjad, Director, Riphah International University, who appreciated Pakistan Youth Parliament’s initiative and thanked the organization for collaborating with Riphah International University to host a meaningful and impactful conference.
The event concluded with President Pakistan Youth Parliament Muhammad Abu Bakar and General Secretary Nauman Majeed Khan presenting souvenirs to the distinguished guests as a gesture of appreciation.
The conference reaffirmed PYP’s commitment to providing young people with platforms for dialogue, leadership development, civic awareness, and responsible participation in national and international issues. 🇵🇰
